Recipe of the week: Cripsy Ginger Chicken Strips Using Rice Crispies.

I've been thinking of new ideas to spice up my blog with. I've come up with a Recipe Of The Week, since I love to cook and have come across incredible recipes. I figured I would share some with you lovely girls (and any guys :P )

What You'll need
-1lb Chicken Breast
-1 cup of Rice Crispies Cereal
-1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
-1/2 package of Panko Kariage mix
-2 Eggs
-1/2 cup Terakyi Sauce
-2 ts Ginger
- Any oil of your liking
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

After I separated out 1lb of chicken, I washed it with luke warm water. Remember you must open any folds or cervices to make sure you have thoroughly washed your chicken. Packaged chicken does contain about 15% of chicken poop. So never skip washing your meat :P

After your chicken is washed, take a small paring knife and remove any fat or veins. I like to keep a plastic bag handy just to make sure I'm not making a bigger mess than necessary. Any veins in the middle of the chicken can be removed when you cut it into strips.

Now that your chicken clean and slimmed down, take a larger knife and cut sideways not lengthwise. This is great because the strips are smaller which are excellent for kids and smaller children. Or even for dinner parties. They're almost bite size.

Now you can set your chicken aside while you prepare the terakyi egg wash.  This is simple and easy step that requires a normal size bowl. Here I used a cereal bowl. Crack your 2 eggs into the bowl and whisk back and forth rapidly using a fork. You can quit beating the eggs once it turns frothy or bubbly like this

Next add a 1/2 cup of terakyi sauce. Here I am using Kikkoman's Teryaki sauce. Then add 2 ts of Ginger seasoning. Mix well

Next comes the fun part. :] In a large bowl add in 1 cup of bread crumbs and a half package of Kara-age seasoning and mix together. then take 1 cup of Rice Crispies treats and add it in. Then crunch, crunch crunch until it looks similar to the bread crumbs, or like the bottom picture.

When breading chicken, reserve one hand for grabbing the chicken out of the egg wash and one for the dry breading. Add a significant amount of chicken into the egg wash and submerge them. Grab at least two pieces with your wet hand and add them into the dry mixture.

With your reserved dry hand, cover the top of the chicken with the breading and press down lightly, Then flip and do the same.

Lay each finished piece onto your pan or cookie sheet and drizzle all the chicken with 2 capfulls of any oil you prefer, today I used basic vegetable oil. But you can use sesame oil, olive oil, or canola oil.

Place your chicken into the preheated oven for 30-45 minutes until golden brown.

And WAA-LAAA you have made yummy crispy chicken strips.

Let me know if you make this, and how it turns out. :]
